Eifel Mill Centre

The historic Birgel watermill is a unique mill experience centre and the largest in Europe.The four mills are still in operation today: mustard mill, grain mill, oil mill and sawmill. The oldest of the four mills - the grain mill - was built in the 13th century and was powered by water at the time. During the daily mill tours, all four mills are in operation and give an impressive impression. Of course, visitors can purchase all the products from the mills as culinary souvenirs in the mill shop. Freshly baked bread from the mill bakery and schnapps from the mill's own distillery round off the experience.

Schnapps distillery:
The distillery can be visited as part of the mill tour. If you would like to try your hand at distilling yourself, you can take part in a schnapps distilling seminar.

Brewery grill
 What smells so delicious in Birgel? The new brewery grill for out-of-home sales is open and tempts you with crispy chicken, juicy chops and delicious potato pancakes with apple sauce. The absolute novelty in our neighbourhood far and wide.

Brewery beer garden
Our new covered brewery beer garden attracts visitors to Birgel even on rainy days. Our home-brewed beer (Helles and Weizen) and delicious food invite you to linger.Table reservations and card payment are not possible. The brewery team looks forward to your visit!
