Gerolstein

The 10 km long hike leads from Gerolstein to Hillesheim. On July 1, 1912, the era of stagecoaches came to an end for Hillesheim with the commissioning of the railway line Gerolstein - Hillesheim. After the Hillesheim viaduct was destroyed in World War II, the line was decommissioned. Today, the former route from Pelm to Dohm is intended to be the hiking path. Along the way, Helmut Bell from the Jünkerath railway enthusiasts will explain the history of the railway line. Numerous mostly dilapidated structures still bear witness to the use of the line.

Under the expert guidance of a mushroom expert, we offer interested participants, including children, a mushroom hike in the forests of the Gerolstein region. Start is at 1:00 p.m. The mushroom hunt takes about 2 hours There is a charge of 20.00 euros per participant for the mushroom dish. The maximum number of participants is 15 and the acceptance is based on the number of registrations received. The parking lot by the tennis courts in Kerpen is the starting point of the approximately 11 km long hike. The route passes by Kerpen Castle and through a meadow landscape to Niederehe. The return trip goes through Loogh back to Kerpen, where the fringed gentian can be admired. The fare from/to Gerolstein is 3 € per person. Please plan for your own backpack refreshments. Winterwanderung Quellenweg Müllenborn mit dem Eifelverein Gerolstein

The 7 km long hike starts at the Müllenborn Pond, ascends around the Ooser Nase, and offers wonderful views of Büdesheim. Everywhere in the forest lie volcanic rock fragments from the Rother Kopf. A tour that combines forest walks and distant views. Zur traditionellen Jahresabschlusswanderung mit Fackeln und Lichter laden wir alle Wanderfreunde, insbesondere aber auch die Kinder recht herzlich ein.We cordially invite all hikers, especially children, to the traditional end-of-year hike with torches and lights. We start on 28.12.2024, at 6 pm at the church square and hike on small detours to "Haus Petra", where we end the club year comfortably at the winter campfire with mulled wine and cocoa.
