The sports clubs from Gerolstein and Büscheich invite you again on Sunday, February 2, 2025 to the third run of the Cross-Country Series Vulkaneifel in Gerolstein-Büscheich.

The Gerolstein cross run will again take place on circular routes over Eifelsteig paths and forest trails below the Dietzenley, starting and finishing at the sports field in Gerolstein-Büscheich. The original paths and trails through the city forest provide excellent conditions for great competitions and pure running joy in nature. Cross-country trails are naturally more demanding than city or forest runs on wide forest paths. However, they also exert a unique fascination on natural paths over bumps and stones, offer a special nature experience, provide a nice change for runners, and are manageable for hobby runners at a comfortable pace.

The children's and youth races over 500, 1,500, and 2,500 meters will kick off the running competitions. They will be followed by the fun runners in the middle distance over 4,000 meters. To conclude, the main runners will be sent onto the 8,000-meter course as part of the cup rankings.

The catering at the sports field in Gerolstein-Büscheich will be provided by SV Büscheich at family-friendly prices. The cross-country courses in Büscheich are particularly spectator-friendly, allowing runners to be cheered on by family and friends without any hassle during the race. In addition to the runners from LG Vulkaneifel, many young people and adults from JSG & SG Kylltal, which consists of the sports clubs Pelm, Gerolstein, Büscheich, and Birresborn, will also participate as part of their winter preparation.

  • 1:00 PM: Bambini run over 500 meters
  • 1:15 PM: Student run over 1,500 meters
  • 1:45 PM: Student run over 2,500 meters
  • 2:15 PM: Fun run/middle distance over 4,000 meters
  • 3:00 PM: Main run over 8,000 meters
