Eifelverein Hillesheim "Brauchtums-Wanderung zum "Radschiewele" nach Walsdorf

This year, on the first Sunday after Carnival, the traditional hike to the neighboring village of Walsdorf for the "Radschiewele" will take place. In the Eifel, the first Sunday of Lent is also known as Castle Sunday, during which winter is to be chased away with bonfires or fire wheels. The local bachelor society in Walsdorf maintains this tradition.
A stop is planned at the end in Walsdorf.

Hiking distance: 3-5 km depending on the weather

The 9 km hiking route leads from Sandborn along the "Heimatpfad" to the millstone caves/ice caves in Roth. After a climb, we reach the volcanic cone "Rother Kopf" with beautiful views. The return route takes us along the Eifelsteig to the reservoir. A concluding stop is planned.
