Eifelverein Hillesheim "Winterwanderung zur Burgruine Glaadt"

Hillesheim

This easy winter hike starts at the outskirts of Jünkerath. The path initially leads towards the Jünkerath reservoir. Along the way, you will encounter the ruins of Glaadt Castle. Originally, this was a castle of the Blankenheim Counts from the 13th century. At the end of the hike, you will return to Jünkerath.

Afterwards, a stop for refreshments is planned.

Travel in carpooling, €3 per person.

Wanderung zum "Scheewen Sunnech" nach Gees mit dem Eifelverein Gerolstein

On the first weekend of Lent, the custom of driving out winter is celebrated in the Eifel region. A burning wheel wrapped in straw is rolled down the "Baarlay" to welcome spring. Afterwards, eggs and bacon or "Heedeligkooche" are eaten. The hike is approximately 10 km long. Please bring a flashlight. We explore the 3rd stage from Hillesheim to Niederehe. The 11 km long tour is considered easy. We start in Hillesheim and reach the Schwedenschanze. After a short break, we continue through Berndorf and Kerpen to Niederehe. A visit to the monastery church is worthwhile before we conclude the hiking day with a rest. The ride to/from Gerolstein costs 3 € per person. Winterwanderung Quellenweg Müllenborn mit dem Eifelverein Gerolstein

The 7 km long hike starts at the Müllenborn Pond, ascends around the Ooser Nase, and offers wonderful views of Büdesheim. Everywhere in the forest lie volcanic rock fragments from the Rother Kopf. A tour that combines forest walks and distant views.
