Benefit concert in favour of the association ‘Hilfe für Frauen in Not FIN e.V.’ On Saturday, 28 September 2024, at 19:00, Soroptimist International Vulkaneifel, in cooperation with the KEB Bildungswerk Hillesheim, invites you to a special benefit concert in the town hall of Hillesheim (Burgstraße 6, 54576 Hillesheim). Admission is free, donations in favour of the association ‘Hilfe für Frauen in Not FIN e.V.’ in Gerolstein are requested. As part of this concert, pianist Leo Kwon from South Korea will present romantic piano works by outstanding female composers of the Romantic period. The programme includes works by Clara Schumann and Fanny Hensel (née Mendelssohn) as well as a work by Hildegard von Bingen. The highlight of the evening will be character pieces and the enchanting etude ‘Un sospiro’ by Franz Liszt. Leo Kwon, who began his musical career in Busan in 2012, is now a celebrated pianist. After his training in Frankfurt with Prof. Eike Wernhard and a successful master's degree, which he completed in 2023, he won international competitions in Spain and Italy. Kwon currently lives in Bingen am Rhein and works as a piano teacher. His interpretations are characterised by virtuosity and emotional depth and never fail to delight audiences. The traditional harvest festival in Rockeskyll is celebrated with a varied programme. On Saturday, 21 September from 7:30 pm, dancing with "The Hurricanes" in the large marquee ensures a great atmosphere and a good mood. Havest-Sunday, 22 September, traditionally begins at 11 am with a festive service in St. Bartholomew's Church in Rockeskyll, where the harvest offerings are blessed. The farmers' and crafts market can then be visited from 2 pm. Musical entertainment will be provided by the music societies from Steffeln and Walsdorf-Zilsdorf.

After three long years, the Mozart Weeks Eifel are finally making a guest appearance again in the fantastically beautiful Protestant Church of the Redeemer in Gerolsteiner. On Friday, November 15 at 7:00 pm, the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim will perform under the direction of its first, long-standing guest conductor Georg Mais together with soloist Wen-Sinn Yang, violoncello. The versatile ensemble, consisting of fourteen musicians from seven nations, is one of the very few “full-time” chamber orchestras in Europe, and the varied program of this eagerly awaited concert with one of the best chamber orchestras in Germany includes masterpieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn and Peter Tchaikovsky.
