The Hillesheim Piano Concerts present a special musical treat: On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the renowned Argentine pianist Leopoldo Lipstein will fill the Town Hall in Hillesheim with his virtuoso skills and unique musical expressiveness.
Leopoldo Lipstein is regarded as one of the most remarkable pianists of our time. His flawless technique, sense of style, and musical intelligence merge in a performance characterized by exceptional sensitivity and poetic depth. As a child prodigy, he traveled South America and won first prize at the National Argentine Piano Competition at the age of 17. His musical career has taken him to the world’s great stages, from Germany to the USA to Japan.
Among his influential teachers are Marcelo Tomassini, Aldo Antognazzi, Karin Merle, and Pavel Gililov. In addition to his active concert career, Lipstein teaches at the renowned Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, where his students have won numerous awards at international competitions. His sons Rafael (piano) and Manuel (cello) are also internationally successful musicians.
Lipstein's discography includes seven solo CDs with thematic focuses, including works by Chopin, Spanish composers, and Shakespeare-inspired pieces. In addition, he has recorded chamber music and orchestral works for well-known broadcasting institutions such as Bayerischer Rundfunk and SWR.
