Welcome to the Vulkaneifel Lamas!

Fancy meeting some new faces for once? Then come and join our llamas on a walk in the countryside!

We offer walks with our llamas, for young and old, through the beautiful nature of the Vulkaneifel. Hiking with llamas means pure deceleration. Their calm, curious and balanced nature makes every hike an unforgettable experience. We have specifically chosen llamas and not alpacas! Llamas have always accompanied humans. Several thousand years ago, llamas served the Incas as beasts of burden. Alpacas, on the other hand, were domesticated much later and bred mainly for their fleece. As a rule, they are not quite as affectionate towards humans as llamas.

Procedure: Before each walk there is a short briefing on the correct handling of the animals. In the stable you will get to know the stallions in peace and quiet and can make your first contact with the animals. Afterwards we go for a walk with the llamas for about 2 hours past forests, meadows and streams. Each participant is allowed to lead their own llama. After the walk there is the possibility to visit our herd of mares. Depending on the season, they have their small or already somewhat larger foals walking at foot.

Please bring sturdy shoes for the hike and choose clothing that may get a little dirty. Dogs are not allowed on the walk. The partly narrow natural paths are not suitable for wheelchairs and prams.
