„Weibs-Bilder“ - Fünf Frauen präsentieren ihre Kunst
Apr 13, 2025 - Apr 20, 2025
Hillesheim
The international Women's Day on March 8, 2025, is an occasion for the cultural initiative Hillesheim to give five female artists the opportunity to showcase their works in the Old Joinery in Hillesheim. Significantly, the protagonists have chosen to name their joint project "Weibs-Bilder" - certainly not without a wink. The five - all painters - want to express their individual female perspective on the world with brush and color. Each of them manages to realize her personal style, thereby also emphasizing her individuality.
Gertrud Engel from Hetzerath describes it this way: "My current paintings are characterized by everyday life. I like to let realistically depicted motives appear in unreal and imaginative colors. But ultimately, everything is reality; only the perception and priorities are individually shifted and differentiated."
Gudrun Terporten from Feusdorf, on the other hand, wants to provide the viewer with "moments" that take them away from everyday life. To do this, she gives space to her imagination to express what she sees in her own aesthetics.
Innovative is also Ingeborg Mack from Bonn. Transformation and further development are her creed as she lets herself be guided by her moods and visions. Objects from nature or urban spaces then receive the degree of abstraction that allows for different ways of viewing.
Uschi Baltes from Rommersheim has shifted her artistic focus in her recent works from abstract painting to more realistic representations. Mainly, it is portraits and natural motifs that she brings to large-sized canvases with acrylic paint.
The fifth member, Gertraud Rakewitz from Birgel, has two passions: art and fashion. Her paintings combine both. She plays with colors and shapes, as "they influence our moods, our entire lives, and especially in fashion."
